Professional gender equality

Our human resources policy is committed to an ethical, inclusive and responsible approach, aimed at fostering professional gender equality among our staff.

The professional gender equality plan

Our policy for gender equality adheres to the European Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) and the Professional Equality Action Plan (PAE).

Higher education and research institutions are required by the French Public Service Transformation Act of 6 August 2019 to adopt a professional gender equality plan, structured around 4 priority pillars, which we have incorporated into our PAE:
  • Assess, prevent and, where necessary, rectify remuneration gaps between men and women.
  • Ensure equal access for women and men to bodies, employment frameworks, ranks and jobs in the public service.
  • Promote the balance between professional life and private / family life.
  • Prevent and deal with acts of discrimination, violence, moral or sexual harassment and sexist behaviour.
The drafting and monitoring of the PAE, and more generally Université Grenoble Alpes’ equality policy, are steered by Human Resources Management and the various other departments involved.

Action plan report

Our first PAE was reviewed in reports produced in 2023 and 2024, summarising all the actions launched and led between 2021 and 2024.
